Sir Robert McAlpine has won a contract to deliver the first building at Science Central in Newcastle upon Tyne along with infrastructure works.

A new urban quarter located on the site of the former Scottish and Newcastle brewery, Science Central will be a science and technology hub combining sustainable commercial, residential, retail and leisure space.

The building features a green wall and biodiverse green roof.

Infrastructure works include installation of new utilities, highways construction, the realignment and upgrading of an existing road to act as the principal site route, creation of two new public spaces and interim uses.
