Tesco advertises £90m south London development

Tesco has advertised a £90 million contract for the construction of its mixed use Streatham Hub development in south London including a superstore and affordable housing.

The development in Streatham will comprise a Tesco store – between 40,000 and 60,000 sq ft – as well as a multi-storey car park, a bus interchange, and a leisure centre with a swimming pool and ice rink as well as private and affordable housing provisions.

Once the leisure centre, bus interchange and car park are complete they will be transferred to the London Borough of Lambeth.

The project is due to start on site in June 2011 with completion scheduled for November 2014.

A bidders information day will be held on 4 November while the deadline for pre-qualification questionnaires is 16 November. Between five and seven firms will be invited to tender for the job.
