VIDEO: City Legacy consortium to build £245m Glasgow 2014 athletes' village

Glasgow Council has named the City Legacy consortium as the preferred development partner to build the £245 million athletes’ village for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The consortium includes architect RMJM, project manager Davis Langdon and engineers WSP, contractors CCG, WH Malcolm and Cruden, and housebuilder Mactaggart & Mickel.

The village will provide accommodation for 6,500 athletes and officials for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

After the games the buildings will be converted to make 1,400 homes for sale and rent.

Work on the village is expected to begin in 2010.
