Wealden council advertises £25m housing refurb job

Wealden District Council is inviting bids for a £25 million contract covering repairs and upgrades across its 3,230 housing units.

Work to be carried out includes the council’s Decent Homes backlog for replacing kitchens and upgrading heating systems as well as bathroom refurbishment, roofing works and replacement of windows and doors.

The contract will run initially for five years from April 2010 with an optional extension of a further five years.

Between five and 10 firms will be invited to tender for the contract in December. Pre-qualification documents should be submitted by 19 November.
