Willmott Dixon wins £12m Helical Bar London refurbishment project

Willmott Dixon’s commercial building team has won a £12m contract with Helical Bar to refurbish a project in central London.

The 1960s Maple House building on City Road, close to Old Street’s Silicon roundabout, will be refurbished and 70,000 sq ft of CAT A accommodation will be created.

Works include extending the north elevation and adding a fourth storey to create a frontage on City Road. The project is scheduled to be complete by summer 2015.

Willmott Dixon north London managing director Chris Tredget said: “Property owners like Helical Bar are investing in creating the high-grade office environments that tenants require in London and are turning to our specialist knowledge and experience to deliver them.”

Willmott Dixon’s current workload in London includes commercial projects totalling £149m, interior fit-out work worth £27m and more than £100m of residential projects.
