TIMELAPSE: Battersea Power Station completes chimney rebuild

Rebuilding work on Battersea Power Station’s four iconic chimneys has completed.

The 51 m-high structures have been rebuilt using the same construction technique as when they were first erected in the early 20th century.

Last month, Construction News reported that Sir Robert McAlpine will take over from Bouygues on the third phase of works at Battersea.

The 1,300-home third phase of the huge project acts as the southern gateway to the 17 ha development at Battersea Power Station and features a new high street, known as Electric Boulevard, offering 350,000 sq ft of space for retail and food outlets.
