SHARE WATCH: Construction shares recover weeks early losses

Stock market listed construction firms largely had a good morning seeing their share prices recover losses earlier in the week.

The FTSE 350 Construction and Materials index was up 3.5 per cent to 3,010 with FTSE 350 Support Services up 0.11 per cent to 2,646.

Babcock International was one of the morning’s big winners with its share price going up 7 per cent to 29.25 pence, while house builder Bellway rose 5.3 per cent to 542 pence a share.

Costain and ISG both fell by more than 7 per cent while consultant White Young Green saw its price drop 9 per cent.

The FTSE 100 went up 1.4 per cent this morning to 4,306, but the index has now fallen more than 41 per cent this year.
