Steelworkers return to Wembley after pay row

A group of steelworkers on the Wembley Stadium project who have been involved in a pay row returned to work today after they accepted a deal.

Around 50 men had stayed away from work for the first two days of this week after being told they would not be paid.

An employment agency involved in hiring the men has gone into liquidation and another contractor will take over the workers' employment.

The steelworkers, members of the GMB union, met this morning and agreed to return to work after being told that their wages would be paid.

Steelwork on the stadium site is virtually complete.
