Travis Perkins sells Buck & Hickman for £27.6m

Travis Perkins has sold its tool and general maintenance retail business Buck & Hickman to Brammer for £27.6 million.

The builders’ merchant announced the completion of the sale this afternoon.

Buck & Hickman has 28 branches in the UK. It says it is the UK’s leading distributor of tools, maintenance and health and safety products and the first major tools distributor to be established in the UK 180 years ago.

The sale to Brammer, a global engineering product distributor, was completed on a debt-free, cash-free basis.  The acquisition was originally announced on 2 September.
